week 5 thing 12

This thing was a bit of a disappointment for me. I wasn't too impressed with Rollyo. I created an account and a searchthingy. And then I searched for something and what was it what I got? The same endless lists like on yahoo or google. And all full with ads as well. So I couldn't really see any advantage using rollyo.
I tried to create a link to rollyo and it is at the end of my blog and I just hope it's working. This copying of links don't seem to be my strongest point. But I'll get there.

week5 thing11

I managed to go to LibraryThing and I could easily spend the rest of my life there. If it wasn't for my sudoku site that is or the rest of my life. Anyway. It's an interesting site and if I ever feel the urge to catalogue the books I've read I might actually use it. It's also very interesting if you want to get some ideas what to read next or of course what other people think about my favourite books.
I opened an account ralph.schroff and added randomly five books and don't ask me why I added Emil und die Detektive. I've read it when I was thirtyfive years younger and it just crossed my mind. Funny thing such a mind. But a great children's book.
And now here is my usual game with the link. One day I'll discover the secret of that, I promise.

week 5 thing 10

I started to play around with online generator and managed to get some sudoku puzzles. I like that and play around with that for the rest of my life, if I manage to find someone to pay me for that. I do like these puzzles quite a lot. Now I try to get with online generator here. Hopefully

week 4 things 8+9

That was a real fun week for the information junkie in me. I do like RSS feed and set up happily a Bloglines newsreader account. And then I went for my shopping tour on the internet and visited every web page I always wanted to read and added it to my account. And now I click on my account and what shall I say there are always new things to read. Phantastic. Marvellous. I just had to stop myself because there are still countless other sites out there, but even with newsreader I need a bit of time to read all that stuff. But it was fun.

And by the way I read some of the other blogs and was well impressed. What fantastic stuff there is. It makes my blog look a bit boring I have to admit. So I added some of the blogs to my newsreader account as well to keep myself entertained.

With that newsreader account I wait happily the next four years until the next world cup.

week 3 or things 5-7

I had a good look at flickr including the flickr tour. Unfortunately I don't have any digital photos myself, so I couldn't put any on the site. But on the other hand - old-fashioned guy that I am - I would not have liked that idea too much anyway. It's one thing sharing photos with some friends and another sharing with a web-wide-community. I could have looked at photos for the rest of my life, but the thought of that was rather frightening.
But I was thinking what a huge technology must be behind such a side to manage this amount of photos and things. It must be enormous. And I understand it would be up to me whom I would allow to view my photos - if these privacy statements can be trusted that is.
I also had a look at this flickr mashups and all the amazing things you could do if you wanted to. I understand there endless possibilities to play around with your photos and maps and stuff. Interesting, but again no really tempting.
All together I found flickr more interesting than the other sites from the week before. But the task I like most is writing this blog here. So at least I can say I learned something.
